Primary Role:

  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data recommending plans.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.

Integrated Responsibilities (Position Description):

  • This is a senior staff position reporting directly to the President and VP of Operations
  • Develops and implements DCAA, DCMA, DFAR and FAR compliant accounting procedures.
  • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling accounts
  • Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system across portfolios, divisions, and managed entities
  • Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts
  • Review, monitor, and report project financial performance (revenue, cost, margins) and identify and present potential deviations against budget or forecasts
  • Regularly collaborate with Program Managers to develop, review, and update project forecasts and estimate-at-completion
  • Manage accounts receivable and collection functions
  • Review subcontractor invoices for accuracy, timeliness, and completion
  • Monitor and review project and program expenditures for accuracy and consistency
  • Review of contract funding levels for limitation of funds notifications
  • Maintain detailed reconciliations for revenue and funding
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors
  • Lead the month-end close-out process ensuring financial statements and account reconciliations
  • In coordination with HR, implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, commissions, employee expense reimbursements, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
