Job Title: Environmental Scientist

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Phase I ESAs, including site inspections, historical research, and database reviews, following ASTM standards.
  • Perform Phase II ESAs, including soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling, and coordinate field investigations.
  • Analyze environmental data, interpret lab results, and prepare technical reports.
  • Identify Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) and recommend next steps for site remediation or further assessment.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance.
  • Manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines and budgets efficiently. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in environmental consulting or site assessments.
  • Familiarity with ASTM E1527-21 standards and environmental regulations (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA).
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience preparing ESA reports.
  • Ability to interpret lab data and make practical recommendations.
  • Proficiency in GIS and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong communication and project management skills. Preferred:
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in West Orange, New Jersey and some days remote.

Work Environment

Work environment - 1-2 days a week on site sampling. Other days can be remote, very flexible work.
