Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple design projects from initial concept through to completion, ensuring adherence to budgetary and scheduling constraints.
- Collaborate with the third-party architect of record and construction project manager across all projects.
- Coordinate design efforts utilizing both internal resources and external specialists, including architects and vendors.
- Customize brand design standards to suit specific restaurant locations.
- Create shop drawings for proprietary equipment, millwork, and signage.
- Review and approve external shop drawings while assessing proposals for design components and equipment.
- Perform detailed reviews of construction documents to ensure alignment with design objectives.
- Engage in planning and permitting activities alongside architects and site development managers.
- Manage project timelines and budgets to maintain consistency.
- Foster relationships with vendors specializing in millwork, signage, and manufacturing.
- Prepare proposals, facilitate negotiations, and manage the bidding process.
- Strong project management capabilities with a focus on precision and detail.
- Proficiency in architectural design software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
- Excellent organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated customer service aptitude and adaptability in a dynamic business landscape.
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite; knowledge of project management tools such as Asana is a plus.
- A four-year undergraduate degree in a technical field such as architecture, design, or construction management is preferred.
- Professional licensure is a beneficial asset.
- At least five years of experience in restaurant or related design, showcasing strong project management expertise.
- Proven experience collaborating with internal and external design professionals.
- Background in implementing nationwide restaurant designs and a solid understanding of contemporary design and construction methodologies.
