Responsibilities: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for Autodesk's general computing applications. Set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements, may design embedded systems software. Work with development teams to understand what slows them down and make recommendations for process and system improvement. Assist with enhancing Autodesk's automation infrastructure, increasing automation test coverage and providing analysis to improve existing automation frameworks. Review the existing computer systems architecture of PlanGrid/Autodesk services, identify areas for improvement, design and develop solutions for improvements. Plan and design new computer system services to improve and streamline workflows. Analyze costs and benefits of new technologies that could enhance existing computer systems functionality or efficiency. Keep well maintained and detailed documentation of how the systems work as they are updated. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States. Telecommuting is permitted.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States. Telecommuting is permitted.

Special Requirements: Position requires some experience in each of the following skills:
  • Utilize knowledge of JavaScript to implement interactive features and elements
  • Utilize knowledge of programming frameworks such as TypeScript and React to create responsive, reusable, and maintainable code components
  • Utilize knowledge of HTML to build user interfaces
  • Utilize knowledge of CSS to generate layouts, colors, and styles for user interfaces
  • Utilize knowledge of Version Control systems to track, review, and share code changes
  • Utilize knowledge of testing frameworks to create and execute integration and unit tests

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $129,800- $175,000/year. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
