  • Handling of various mammalian cell lines or bacteria, maintaining their growth, and expanding them as required for specific in vitro experiments to evaluate various wound healing products.
  • Perform statistical analysis of in-vitro studies and preparing scientific presentations.
  • If needed, collaborate with internal Ethicon and other J&J associates to develop, and validate in-vitro assays for wound healing.

QualificationsQualifications:Required:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university.
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in molecular & cell biology, biomedical engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related technical field.
  • Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the session.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus programs and/or community service activities is desired.
  • A high level of organization and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Be comfortable working independently, as well as on a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point, and have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States and not require future sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1-B status) now or in the future.
  • Ability to provide their own transportation to this work location. A stipend may be offered to students who meet the commuting distance eligibility requirements.
  • Less than 5% travel.
  • Ability to work on-site.

Preferred:

  • Hands-on laboratory work experience especially in cell (mammalian) culture
  • Performing studies and developing test methods and fixtures
  • Good documentation practices, including writing test protocols, generating final reports, and documenting meeting minutes.
  • Knowledge of basic microbiological techniques (bacterial growth, streaking, spreading etc.)
  • Experience with multidisciplinary projects that require interfacing with different scientific disciplines (microbiology, material science, chemistry).
