Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, and budgeting. As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing our cost structures, ensuring accurate cost reporting, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Analysis: Analyze and monitor costs related to production, inventory, and operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Identify and investigate variances and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage cost budgets and forecasts. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, and perform variance analysis to support financial planning.
  • Cost Reporting: Prepare detailed cost reports and financial statements for management review. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of cost data.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory accounting and valuation, including the assessment of inventory reserves and obsolescence. Ensure adherence to accounting principles and company policies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in cost accounting procedures. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including operations and procurement, to gather data, understand cost drivers, and support cross-functional initiatives.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. Assist with internal and external audits as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting or a related field, with a proven track record of managing cost processes and providing insightful financial analysis.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
