Senior Firewall Remediation Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
One of Kforce's notable Health Care clients is looking for a Senior Firewall Remediation Engineer to join their team for a 100% remote, 3-month contract.

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Firewall Remediation Engineer to join our Infosec OT team. The successful candidate will work on a critical firewall policy remediation initiative, focusing on identifying opportunities to clean up and optimize firewall policies. This role will initially concentrate on RLAN firewalls using Tufin, with a broader goal of enhancing overall firewall management and security posture.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead efforts to remediate, optimize, and manage firewall policies, with an initial focus on RLAN firewalls
* Utilize Tufin for firewall policy management, analysis, and optimization, identifying unnecessary or outdated rules and opportunities for improvement
* Manage, troubleshoot, and refine firewall policies, specifically within Palo Alto firewall environments
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand network security requirements and implement effective firewall policies
* Conduct in-depth analysis of firewall policies to identify risks, optimize configurations, and enhance overall security
* Create detailed documentation for firewall policy changes, optimization strategies, and remediation efforts
* Provide expert guidance and support for troubleshooting complex firewall issues
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders to present findings, recommendations, and status updates on remediation efforts

REQUIREMENTS:
* Proven experience in firewall management and remediation, with a strong focus on Palo Alto Networks firewalls
* Proficiency in using Tufin for firewall policy analysis, management, and optimization
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex firewall policy issues
* Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical findings and recommendations
* Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
* Strong understanding of network security principles, firewall best practices, and policy management

Preferred Qualifications:
* Relevant certifications (e.g., Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer, Tufin Certified Security Expert) are a plus
* Experience working in an operational technology (OT) security environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
