How You’ll Make An Impact
At Aptima, a Scientist is primarily responsible for leading scientific and technical work that responds to marketplace needs and that is of high quality and delivered in a timely manner to meet customer needs. How You’ll Make An Impact
At Aptima, a Scientist is primarily responsible for leading scientific and technical work that responds to marketplace needs and that is of high quality and delivered in a timely manner to meet customer needs. You will have the opportunity to work with a highly interdisciplinary team on a variety of tasking, including the following:
- Successfully design and implement the scientific and technical aspects of projects and proposals
- Lead in the execution of technical tasks under projects and proposals, resulting in work that is timely and of high quality
- Contribute significantly to and/or lead the production of Aptima technical reports, proposals, and published papers. May serve as lead author
- Lead project and proposal teams in the Project/Proposal Manager role, collaborating between teams and Divisions as necessary
- May successfully design the technical and scientific aspects of a project in the PI role
- Support more senior staff through the application of technical knowledge by contributing to proposals, participating in capabilities briefs, preparing software or meeting materials, integrating/installing software, meeting with customers, etc
- Continue education in own professional domain (conferences, reading). Take initiative to do background reading and/or other forms of professional development related to project needs and technical areas
- Present work at professional conferences and/or in professional publications
- Perform other such duties as may be required
- BA, BS, or equivalent degree plus 3 years relevant experience recommended from date of relevant BA/BS degree. Experience and education may be substituted by outstanding history of achievement
- Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
