Job Description
The Quality Manager (QM) is responsible for managing the Quality Department inclusive of Quality Management and Quality Assurance functions. Reporting to the Vice President of North America, the QM will oversee the planning, organizing, updating, and overall management of the Quality Management Systems (QMS) in support of the companys growth and quality initiatives. The QM also provides the necessary strategic and operational support of customer programs with the required focus on quality and associated risks including development of risk-based quality plans for existing and new product introductions. This includes definition of inspection criteria and methods
and implementation of the quality plan via Quality Control.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Reporting quality trends and issues to Senior Leadership.
- Verifying and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the QMS
- Conducting periodic management reviews and annual management reviews of applicable certifications.
- Monitoring and reporting on QMS, customer satisfaction, and supplier quality performance.
- Analyzing and reporting on internal, vendor, and customer audit results.
- Providing direction to Quality Assurance and Quality Control subordinates.
- Ensuring exceptional quality product output through continuous improvement efforts.
- Directing and/or assisting in quality-related investigative and root-cause analysis.
- Interacting with customers regarding perceived non-compliance issues.
- Support of Customer Organization with Quarterly Business Reviews and client presentations.
- Maintaining material traceability as required.
- Implementing inspection, testing, and evaluation methods.
- Training and managing production line staff in production practices and quality assessment.
- Tracking products through the manufacturing process.
- Conducting detailed inspections of final products.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Fluent in the electronic assembly and cabling workmanship requirements per IPC-A-610
- Experience in the development and management of quality management system, ISO 9001, ISO 13485,
- AS9100, and exposure to FDA compliance and regulatory requirements.
- BA/BS Engineering, Business Administration, Quality Assurance, or related field
- 10 years + related work experience
