Job Title: Junior Estimator

Job Description

A Junior Estimator will work under a Preconstruction Manager to provide detailed project cost estimates for labor, time, and materials. The role involves reviewing project documents, including specifications, drawings, scopes, and schedules, providing estimates for multiple projects during the bidding process, and maintaining a database of bids. Projects include large apartment complexes, sr. living facilities, office space/warehouse flex spaces, K-12 schools, etc., with sizes ranging from $50K to $9M.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year construction or related degree and/or some education with construction experience
  • Experience and interest in estimating
  • Knowledgeable about construction methods and materials
  • Able to read, understand and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts and schedules
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook, Bluebeam
  • Experienced with estimating software such as OST/QB and/or The Estimating Edge - Will look at candidates that have experience or interest in other estimating software's as well

Work Environment

The company has 60 employees, with 11 working in the office. This is an in-office/on-site role with some flexibility for special occasions like doctor appointments or inclement weather. The typical schedule is from 7 AM to 5 PM, although some flexibility is allowed. Generally, the Junior Estimator will work 40-50 hours per week without the expectation of excessive overtime. The company values a love for dogs and quirky family dynamics.
