This hybrid role is available to candidates located in any of the following U.S. cities where we have operations: Chicago, IL; Detroit, MI; Tyngsborough, MA; Tempe, AZ; or Desert Hot Springs, CA.

Job Summary: The Quality Management Systems (QMS) Specialist is responsible for facilitating the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's Quality Management System. This role involves training staff on quality requirements, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards, and promoting continuous improvement through the effective use of quality tools and processes.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Process Development: Facilitate the development, implementation, review, approval, and maintenance of business processes and quality standards.
  • Training: Train staff on quality requirements, business processes, and use of the quality database.
  • Compliance Communication: Communicate compliance issues to leadership and ensure adherence to internal and external product requirements.
  • Feedback and Improvement: Provide feedback to various departments on QMS and the practical implementation of new or improved programs.
  • Record Management: Ensure all QMS records are completed on time and filed correctly.
  • Continuous Improvement: Make QMS the foundation of continuous improvement and product development; facilitate continuous improvement through leadership in root cause analysis and non-conformity management.
  • Process Review: Support the review and analysis of the execution of processes in terms of quality achievement.
  • Tool Promotion: Promote the use of administration and quality tools and processes.
  • Liaison Role: Act as liaison for internal QMS audits, quality reviews, and periodic evaluations.
  • Compliance Oversight: Oversee process compliance with administration/QMS requirements.
  • Results Presentation: Present results at local and national levels.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff to achieve quality goals.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced understanding of QMS principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of international standards and quality management systems (e.g., GMP, ISO).
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in managing quality documentation and processes.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address quality non-conformities effectively.
  • Training Skills: Ability to create and deliver quality training programs.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under set deadlines.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to change and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Data Management: Proficiency in MS Office and quality management software (e.g., Master Control or similar platforms).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial, Chemical, Agronomist), Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in quality positions.
  • Advanced understanding of QMS and experience with quality documentation and standards.
