Up for the challenge of leading and innovating CADD services, all while mentoring and growing a diverse team?

As Osborn Consulting's CADD Manager, you'll head up the seamless operation of CADD software and project management, nurture your team's individual strengths and build on any weaknesses, ensure we adhere to (or exceed) professional drafting standards, and balance time management with the needs of a variety of project priorities. Importantly, you'll also keep us looking around corners identifying the training, support, and technology we'll need to stay at the top of the pack.

About the Role

In this position, you ll work with a highly collaborative team to drive excellence and be part of a larger leadership team that exceeds client expectations with precise, high-quality deliverables. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Manage firmwide design software and vertical applications.
  • Evaluate, design, and implement new technologies.
  • Provide customization, configuration, and standardization of design software.
  • Develop standard procedures, processes, and workflows to ensure efficient and high-quality drafting and design across all practices and disciplines.
  • Manage ProjectWise administration, including project setup, development, and end-user support.
  • Provide principal-level CADD support on projects, acting as a subject matter expert, providing support and guidance to colleagues and clients on technology-related matters regarding CADD and BIM solutions.
  • Stay current on new design technologies and platforms while providing direction and insight on emerging technologies.
  • Leverage digital delivery expertise to streamline project workflows and enhance collaboration among project teams, utilizing tools and platforms for efficient communication, document sharing, and delivery
  • Utilize design expertise to lead unique or especially challenging design tasks.
  • Onboard new users in CADD systems and software.
  • Provide mentoring and professional development.
  • Coordinate with practice leads on CADD needs and CADD staff performance.
  • Provide input and guidance on hiring, reviewing, and promoting CADD technicians.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure the team is equipped with essential skills and knowledge.
  • Create and maintain quality assurance frameworks for CADD services.
  • Conduct peer reviews for standards compliance and quality control.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to implement strategic solutions effectively, with a proven track record of measurable results and successful project completion.

We re looking for someone with:

  • 15+ years drafting/design experience in the civil engineering field (additional coursework or college degree may reduce experience required).
  • 5+ years CADD management in the civil engineering field, including supervising CADD departments or teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Autodesk and Bentley drafting and design applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent client service skills and attention to detail.
  • Multi-disciplinary understanding of engineering, landscape architecture, and construction for city, public works, municipal, and state projects.
  • Ability to provide principal-level CADD support on projects. This includes high level involvement on large or unique projects during scoping, project kick off and key milestones and providing guidance for CADD challenges, ensuring the Osborn Project Manager and Client have the CADD resources and support needed for successful project delivery.

The expected compensation range for this position for employees based in the Seattle area is $116,500 $145,600 annually and is dependent upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
