Job Description

Inventory Strategy Manager will be the subject matter expert for managing the end-to-end transition of products phase in and phase out of Daikin s portfolio. This includes long-term planning and executing new product introductions and the discontinuation of existing products. The role requires strong project management and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth transitions. This position will also be responsible for overseeing and reporting on project activities and status reporting through the SCM to the business leadership.

Position Responsibilities may Include:

Develop and execute long-term strategies for product transitions including best practices and SOPs.

Provide leadership to teams that work on projects related to program or SCM initiatives.

Identify, implement and drive continuous improvement processes

Develop and manage detailed project plans for the introduction of new products and the discontinuation of existing products.

Update Senior Leadership on SCM status and related issues that need awareness or resolution.

Ensure alignment with Leadership on direction and intent of SCM project activities.

Participates in a series of independent reviews on active projects to review/approve project milestones

Serve as subject matter expert for all MSP 810/product transition projects with appropriate decision rights to ensure smooth phase-in and phase-out

Extensive experience with planning teams to ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained during transitions to prevent shortages or excess stock.

Partner with procurement and materials management team to phase out obsolete raw materials and components and phase in new materials and components.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, order services, supply chain, marketing, and sales, to ensure all transition activities are completed on time.

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on operations and customer satisfaction.

Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders regularly.

Facilitate meetings and ensure effective communication across all stakeholders.

Ensure all PIPO transition activities comply with regulations and company policies.

Embed PIPO process in MSP 810 / Daikin s product transition process

Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and efficiency gains within the PIPO process.

Leads efforts with defining project scope and timing

Participates in a series of independent reviews on active projects to review/approve project milestones.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills:

Strong verbal and written communications skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience with and ability to work with cross functional teams.

Knowledge of product launch development stage gate process

Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from concept to commercialization.

Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.

Proficient in Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

Strong knowledge of demand planning, production planning.

Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners.

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Able to set SMART goals and drive ownership and accountability with business partners.

Experience:

12+ years of experience in product management, project management and process optimization.

8+ years of SCM experience.

Education/Certification:

Bachelor s degree in engineering or supply chain management.

PMP certification preferred, but not required.

APICS certification preferred, but not required.
