A large Aerospace and Defense company is looking to hire a Software Engineering Manager to lead the embedded software development team in Wisconsin. In this role, you will drive development of embedded systems that focus on power conversion and more. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with C++ or VDHL programming, Simulink Code-gen, and experience working with military contracts.

Software Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Lead the development and implementation of embedded software for power systems, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
  • Oversee FPGA programming efforts, including design, simulation, testing, and integration.
  • Utilize Simulink for system modeling and automatic code generation
  • Manage projects using Agile methodologies
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the embedded software engineering team
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements, deliver custom solutions, and ensure contractual compliance.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master s degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in embedded software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong background in FPGA programming, Simulink Code-gen, and system modeling.
  • Proven experience managing software development projects using Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in power conversion, distribution, or storage systems.
  • Familiarity with military contracts and the specific requirements for software development and documentation in this context.
