The Quality Manager will maintain and update critical quality documentation, including but not limited to Laboratory Accreditation documentation, SIMCO Quality Management documentation, Internal Audits, Standards Readiness, Proficiency Tests, calibration procedures, and calibration datasheets, while supporting and driving quality excellence across all laboratories.

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. SIMCO s liaison with Accrediting Body regarding accreditation matters:
    1. Assist in preparation and submittal of Accrediting Body applications for accreditation or when requestion expansion of the current scope of accreditation
    2. Review and approve corrective actions from accrediting body audit findings and submit formal response along with objective evidence
    3. Responsible for ensuring SIMCO s Quality Management System reflects the latest changes in accrediting body policies and procedures
  2. Perform Annual Internal audits of SIMCO laboratories
    1. Maintain Internal Audit Schedule
  3. Participate in developing and documenting SIMCO s Management Reviews
  4. Maintain SIMCO s Approved Supplier List
    1. Perform Subcontractor evaluations
  5. Maintain SIMCO s Master Listing of Controlled DocumentsConduct and review impact analysis for Out-of-Tolerance Notification for all SIMCO standards
  6. Investigate, review, and perform analysis on SIMCO corrective actions and provide objective evidence
  7. Manage SIMCO s Proficiency Test Program
    1. Create and develop comprehensive proficiency test to drive process improvement
    2. Review and evaluate results and provide guidance to laboratories on best practices
  8. Create, Review, and Update Datasheets:
    1. Generate detailed and accurate datasheets for equipment and instruments
    2. Continuously review and revise datasheets to maintain accuracy and relevancy
    3. Ensure datasheets comply with accrediting body requirements and SIMCO standards
  9. Create, Review, and Update Calibration Procedures
    1. Develop comprehensive calibration procedures for calibration processes
    2. Regularly review and update existing procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
  10. Support and drive Quality Excellence across all locations
    1. Provide quality support and guidance to laboratory staff
    2. Lead initiatives to improve quality processes and outcomes
  11. Other duties and responsibilities, as required
Qualifications
  1. Must have above-average proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel
  2. Knowledge of Quality Management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 17025 and Z540)
  3. Knowledge of SharePoint is a plus.
  4. Knowledge of METCAL and SureCal automation is a plus.
  5. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Education / Experience / Training / Certifications
  1. Minimum AA degree, formal PMEL training, or equivalent
  2. Ten years of experience in the calibration industry
Physical Demands
  1. Must be able to lift 45 pounds without assistance.
  2. Occasional standing and bending may be required.
Working Environment
  1. Works primarily from home, but some projects may require the Quality Manager to be in the laboratory or manufacturing environment at a SIMCO location and/or customer sites.
    1. Travel may be required to other domestic and possibly international locations.
