Hours: 6:00 am - 3:00 pm (to support our East Coast Clients)

About the Position

The Loan Sales and Transfers Lead is a skilled and experienced professional who oversees a team of Loan Sales and Transfers Analysts. This position involves coordinating the team's efforts to produce accurate and timely client performance reports, ensuring all reporting standards are met, and promoting teamwork. The Team Lead plays a crucial role in driving the team's performance and contributing to the overall success of LS&T reporting activities. Your responsibilities include leading the team, providing guidance and support, and working with various departments to optimize reporting processes.

Responsibilities

Loan Sales and Transfers

  • Broad understanding of mortgage loan servicing and loan sales & transfer concepts.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of Pooling & Servicing Agreements (if applicable to the assigned investor).
  • Identify and track loan transfer deficiencies to reduce financial risks such as compensatory fees, audit risks, and MSR owner financial risks.
  • Understand downstream impact to Investor Reporting and accounting.
  • Communicate and resolve loan sale deficiencies to clients weekly.
  • Ensure the successful transition of new client portfolios.
  • Quality control team research for accuracy. Review the team's progress to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Analyze the team's exceptions research and identify areas that can be automated.

Client & Investor Communication/Interaction

  • Lead client meetings and address any concerns or questions proactively. Suggest solutions or action plans as needed.
  • Serve as clients' primary point of contact during a crisis, providing timely and accurate information to resolve issues, and is dedicated to building strong relationships.

Audit Request

  • Engage with clients during audit reviews. Thoroughly examine audit files before submitting them to the client and provide comprehensive responses to inquiries during an audit.

Process Improvement

  • Participate in team projects and improvement meetings, take notes, provide feedback, and understand improvement procedures and purpose.
  • Analyze work product to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Provide continuous enhancements to existing processes.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize reporting processes, enhance efficiency, and drive continuous improvement through automation and collaboration with the development teams.
  • Contribute at least 2 process improvements annually, focusing on automation, streamlined communication, and enhanced efficiency.

Team Training/Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with teammates.
  • Review policies and procedures to ensure current processes are accurate and up to date to align with internal and external policies.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to team members to help improve their skills and abilities.
  • Recommend disciplinary action towards employees as per the company's policies whenever necessary.
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • If the manager is unavailable, participate in new hire interviews. Assess candidates' skills, experience, and qualifications to determine if they meet the role requirements. Review the team's capacity for resource allocation.

Minimum Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or closely related field. Must have a minimum 3.5 GPA. Advanced Degree preferred.

Minimum Work Experience

  • 3+ years previous experience at a mortgage servicing or financial technology company with a specific focus on loan transfer operations, loan boarding, servicing and MSR transfers.
  • Experience with Investor Reporting is preferred
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of day-to-day loan boarding activities including data field mapping, conversion, data validation, handling loan on-boarding and off-boarding batches, identifying and resolving data errors with transfer populations of various sizes.
  • Experience with GSE Investor Reporting requirements is preferred.

Minimum Requirements

  • Focus on client quality delivery with an understanding of the linkage between your work product and its impact on client success.
  • Highly proficient in Excel; proficient in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience with large-scale servicing systems (i.e. ICE, Sagent, LoanServ, etc.)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify potential risks and solutions to mitigate them.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with tight, competing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to easily explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience in guiding and mentoring team members.
  • Motivated self-starter who can drive both your own workflow as well as that of your team.
