Job Title: Point of Sale (POS) and Computer Technician

Location: Colorado, US (within a 150-mile radius of Erie, CO.)

SALARY: $45 to $52 per hour (depending on experience)

Colorado POS Pros (CPP) is looking for technician who can fix POS systems, both software and hardware, perform software updates, and fix computers and connected peripherals for businesses in various industries.

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or GED (minimum requirement)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred)
  • Industry certifications such as:
    • CompTIA A+
    • CompTIA Network+
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
    • Microsoft Certified: Windows 10 (or latest OS)
    • Vendor-specific POS certifications (e.g., NCR, Verifone, Ingenico)

Technical Skills:

  1. POS Systems:
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of POS hardware and software
  • Troubleshooting POS system issues (both hardware and software)
  • Performing software updates and upgrades
  • Programming and configuring credit card terminals
  • Important: Have knowledge on various POS devices so they can Recommend new POS Software and Hardware

2. Computer Hardware:

  • Building, repairing, and upgrading desktop and laptop computers
  • Installing and configuring computer peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.)
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware issues
  • Important: Have knowledge on various computer devices so they can Recommend new POS Software and Hardware

3. Software:

  • Installing, configuring, and updating operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux)
  • Troubleshooting software issues and conflicts
  • Implementing and maintaining antivirus and security software

4. Networking:

  • Setting up and maintaining local area networks (LANs)
  • Configuring routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity issues
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS

5. Mobile Devices:

  • Configuring and troubleshooting mobile POS systems
  • Supporting tablets and smartphones used in business operations

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
