BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated API Developer for a remote opportunity.

Position Title:API Developer

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Anticipated Start Date: 9/30/2024

Expected Duration: 6- months (Fulltime)

Job Type: Contract

Pay Range: $75/hr. - $85/hr.

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated contract API Developer to assist in developing the company's next-generation middleware solutions.This role will work with the product team to build integrations with backend systems, serving customer facing web portals. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud integration patterns and experience building scalable, secure, and maintainable backend services. Must be able to effectively interact with Business Analysts, Technical Analysts, and business users to understand the overall enterprise solution. Must be capable of managing multiple deliverables and defining scope for new or existing applications.

Required Technologies and Skills:

5+ years of experience developing and implementing APIs

Strong coding skills;5+ years Python experience is required

2+ years of experience developingGraphQL APIs

Experience withAWS AppSync (1+ years of experience)

2+ yearsAWS native technologiessuch as API Gateway,Lambda,SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, Step Functions, ElastiCache

Experience with IaC tools such asTerraform

Experience withORMtools such as SQLAlchemy

Experience with SQL and database such asPostgres RDS, DynamoDB and SQL Server

Experience implementing multiple data caching patterns

Experience with API design patterns and guidelines

Experience with Agile development practices and techniques

Experience with version control tools, such as Git

Experience writing and verifying secure coding techniques

Experience writing unit tests

Effective communication skills, with the ability to mentor others on the team

Ability to troubleshoot services in complex distributed environments

Ability to interact effectively with co-workers and collaborate with team members

Strong attention to detail

Desired Technologies and Skills

Hands on experience using CI/CD and DevOps practices to deliver products

Experience with other AWS integration services such as EventBridge and Step Functions

Experience implementing event-driven integration patterns

Knowledge of Snowflake cloud data platform

Knowledge of SAP OData services

Applicable AWS certifications or training

Familiarity with authentication and authorization services such as Okta
