About the Role

The Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the development and submission of high-quality, compelling proposals in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and other solicitations from clients. Working closely with business development, pre-construction, and operations teams, the Senior Proposal Manager ensures that all proposals align with the company’s strategy, meet client requirements, and are delivered on time. This role requires exceptional leadership, writing, editing, and project management skills with the ability to handle complex proposals for a variety of construction projects.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent is required
  • BA/BS with an emphasis on Marketing, Journalism, Media Management, or Communications is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of proposal management experience with at least 5 years in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry
  • Proven track record of managing and winning large, complex proposals in a competitive environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the construction industry, project delivery methods, and key project phases.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with the ability to handle multiple proposals simultaneously.
  • Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proposal management software (InDesign).
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and manage junior proposal staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Primary Duties

  • Lead the end-to-end proposal process for large and complex construction projects. This includes coordinating with the Client Executive, other subject matter experts, estimators, and project managers to gather information and ensure all proposals are fully compliant and competitive.
  • Work closely with business development teams to define proposal strategies and win themes. Identify key differentiators and unique selling points to position the company favorably against competitors.
  • Write, edit, and review content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency. Develop proposal narratives, executive summaries, and technical sections that convey the company’s value proposition.
  • Ensure that all proposals meet client requirements, adhere to RFP instructions, and comply with company standards. Conduct compliance checks and final reviews prior to submission.
  • Manage the proposal schedule, set internal deadlines, and monitor progress to ensure timely submission. Utilize proposal management tools and methodologies to track project status and collaborate with team members.
  • Prepare presentation materials and assist in the coordination of interviews and client meetings. Provide support to key personnel during client presentations or interviews related to the proposal.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be physically fit enough to function safely on a project site and office setting. This includes the following:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer with repetitive movements.
  • Must be able to use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization's physical premises.
  • Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, and copiers.
  • Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges are essential for normal conversations, receive ordinary information, and prepare or inspect documents.
  • Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers.

  • Current driver’s license, required.
  • Work on-site at a main office or project location, required
  • May be called after hours and on weekends to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues impacting deliverables and/or job sites
  • May require travel
