  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

Data Engineer - Remote (Contract to hire)

Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Data Engineer with extensive experience in AWS, Databricks, data modeling, SQL Server transformations, and SQL querying. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data transformation and be adept at handling complex data warehousing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Warehousing & Transformation:

    • Lead data warehousing projects focused on data transformation.
    • Pull data from various applications into our environment.
    • Model, cleanse, and validate data.
    • Link records from origin to destination to build data funnels.
    • Handle different data marts and ensure data is modeled into the correct format.
    • Connect and validate data with internal systems.

  • SQL Server & Databricks:

    • Understand and modify existing SQL Server architecture.
    • Transition existing architecture to Databricks.
    • Utilize SQL Server and SSIS for data transformations (SSIS is not mandatory).

  • Data Modeling:

    • Implement data modeling techniques using snowflake and star schemas.
    • Differentiate and apply various data modeling approaches.

  • AWS:

    • Leverage AWS for data storage, processing, and transformation.

Top 3 Technology Skillsets:

  1. Databricks and SQL Server/Queries:

    • Proficient with SQL Server (2012 or 2014 preferred, but any version is acceptable).
    • Strong querying skills and experience with Databricks.

  2. Data Modeling Experience:

    • Expertise in snowflake and star schemas.
    • Ability to differentiate and apply these models effectively.

  3. AWS:

    • Experience with AWS services is a significant advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong expertise in Databricks, SQL Server, and data modeling.
  • Experience with AWS and data warehousing projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
