BDR is seeking a Database Administrator III to join our growing team! This position will be performed virtually from the individual's home office working on EST time schedule. This position requires ship with a Public Trust or the ability to obtain one.

Role Overview
The Database Administrator III will be responsible for supporting our government client through high level database administration. Duties will include installation, configuration and upgrading of the database management system.
Responsibilities

  • Installs, configures, and upgrades database management systems as needed; creates and maintains databases and schema objects in line with application requirements
  • Performs regular database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Implements and maintains security measures to protect data and databases
  • Conducts regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Develops and maintains database backup and recovery procedures
  • Ensures data availability and disaster recovery planning
  • Monitors database system health and performance
  • Configures and maintains database alerting and notification systems
  • Monitors database capacity and optimizes resource utilization
  • Collaborates with development teams to ensure proper database design and usage.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Information Systems, or other related discipline ( 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
  • 5+ years of Database administration including installs, configuration and upgrades
  • Prior experience supporting a government client
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

In addition, U.S Citizenship is required. Select applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a government-granted security clearance. Individuals may also be subject to a background investigation including, but not limited to criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.
