We are seeking an experienced Capital Project Engineer to support large capital projects in a biopharmaceutical manufacturing setting. This role will be crucial for managing and executing project activities, ensuring construction safety, and coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in conceptual and detailed design, gathering user requirements, and reviewing design documents
  • Lead and conduct contractor safety evaluations, ensuring compliance with all construction safety requirements
  • Develop and implement site safety plans for construction activities with the support of EHS professionals
  • Review submittals and RFIs to ensure alignment with corporate specifications and industry best practices
  • Update site drawings and P&IDs to reflect accurate as-built conditions
  • Provide daily oversight of on-site contractors, manage their activities, and ensure adherence to safety protocols
  • Support equipment startup, including commissioning, troubleshooting, and assisting validation teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience in construction management for utility, process equipment, or facility projects - preferably in pharma or biotech
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent teamwork abilities, with experience working across various disciplines and organizational levels
  • PMP certification is preferred
  • Exposure to commercial construction activities, with a general understanding of all trades
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
