As an Account Manager, you'll generate, manage, and nurture relationships, drive sales growth, and ensure customer satisfaction. The Account Manager will oversee a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new sales opportunities.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be able to work from the office located in Chippewa Township, PA and conduct a minimum of 80% of work hours in the office.
Travel
This job will require frequent, scheduled travel to multiple states for overnight trips to institutions and conferences. Travel on one or more days of a weekend may also occur occasionally.

- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships through regular communication including emails, phone calls, virtual meetings, and in-person visits.
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients, addressing their needs, resolving issues, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Understand clients’ business objectives, industry challenges, and opportunities to offer tailored solutions and recommendations in a timely manner.
- Attend conferences as needed to represent Portage Learning, engage with both new and existing customers, and identify and pursue new business opportunities within current and potential accounts.
- Prepare and deliver product presentations, proposals, and course demonstrations to contacts, showcasing the value and benefits of the company’s offerings.
- Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and implement effective sales strategies, plans, and initiatives for assigned accounts, while working closely with internal teams—such as marketing, data, academics, and student services—to meet client needs and support the overall sales process.
- Track and provide feedback on market trends, customer data, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and threats, and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics, including sales revenue, customer acquisition, and retention rates, while also monitoring account performance metrics such as account volume and customer satisfaction to report progress to leadership.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, sales activities, and account plans in the CRM (HubSpot) and other systems.
- Provide feedback and insights from clients to internal teams to inform product development, marketing strategies, and service improvements.
- Escalate critical issues to sales leadership and other relevant departments as needed, and collaborate on resolution strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills (written, verbal, listening, and public speaking).
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a strategic and analytical mindset.
- Proficiency in sales CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot, Monday) and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to leverage technology to optimize sales processes and workflows.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend meetings, and participate in industry events.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with a passion for sales and customer success.
- Must be service oriented with a focus on helping others.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in sales, account management, or a related role, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth preferred.

Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and learn technical information.
- Light lifting is required. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force to constantly move objects.
