Job Description

RJH is looking for a technically exceptional and driven professional to work on challenging and diverse dam, levee, and water resources projects within a strong team environment. This position is located in Denver Colorado. Our ideal candidate will have specialized experience related to structural engineering coupled with strong communication and teamwork skills. Work activities will consist of about half-time structural analyses/design and half-time civil layout/design.

Civil/Structural Engineer Requirements:

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 3 to 10 years of progressive experience in civil and structural engineering, preferably for hydraulic structures and water resources projects.
  • Thorough understanding of structural analysis principals and design, material selection and design, reinforced concrete design (ACI), steel design (AISC), code compliance, and structure stability analyses.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Colorado Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain Colorado P.E. within 6 months of hire.

Civil/Structural Engineer Job Description:

  • Perform and lead structural calculations, analyses, and modeling.
  • Perform inspections and structural assessments of existing structures and structures under construction.
  • Prepare reports and technical memorandum.
  • Prepare construction drawings and specifications for reinforced concrete and steel structures and associated elements.
  • Maintain and enforce code compliance and applicable standards on projects.
  • Develop work plans with schedules and budgets to address technical challenges.
  • Perform and lead structural engineering work with excellent technical quality within schedule and budget.
  • Willingness to travel on temporary assignments as needed.
