JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a freelance Senior User Experience Designer who thrives on collaborating with strategists and creatives to shape outstanding brand experiences. You excel in user-centered design, working seamlessly with clients and team members to create impactful, collaborative brand journeys.

As the UX designer, you will craft engaging and intuitive user experiences and interface designs. By closely collaborating with the product and development teams, you will deliver high-value design solutions. Your key responsibilities include developing information architecture, user stories, wireframes, and prototypes. You'll evaluate data to identify design strategies and opportunities, overseeing the user experience from concept to launch.

Additionally, you'll translate user needs and business requirements into tangible, impactful design expressions. When incorporating user feedback, you will ensure consistency and a cohesive brand experience across all touchpoints.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a creative agency, working for New Park is fun, rewarding, and exciting. Here’s what to expect from the day-to-day within this role:

  • Create annotated wireframes (both high-fidelity and low-fidelity) that illustrate how content and design can bring our clients’ business strategy and brand to life while meeting real user needs
  • Create recommended UX artifacts (site map, user flows, low-fi wireframes/mockups and sketches as-needed, documentation and annotations) that will inform and support the design and development phases
  • Present to internal stakeholders and clients
  • Create sustainable and scalable UI
  • Create and implement global design system to the final design
  • Create overall user flow for products
  • Provide accurate design specs to the development team
  • Create design mockups from the initial wireframe to the final clickable prototype
  • Additionally support other brand design initiatives such as identity system development, marketing collateral and social media assets.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years in UX/UI design role
  • Expert knowledge and skill set in creating design system components and prototypes in Figma, along with proficiency in Adobe CC and other design tools
  • Design portfolio featuring strong examples of UX/UI design work
  • Ability to think at a high level about brand and product strategy
  • Strong visual communication skills with a keen eye for typography, layout, and color
  • Strong knowledge of responsive and WCAG standards
  • Experienced in working in the agile product dev system
  • Ability to prototype designs and support user testing sessions
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated with a passion for pixel perfection, consistency, organization, usability, and discoverability
  • Confidence and excitement in your creative ideas
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – you’ll be expected to be able to clearly communicate design decisions and keep track of all projects and documentation.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging work environment

We’re looking for an individual who is creative and passionate about using their talents for good. Here are some other qualifications necessary for someone to thrive in this role:

  • General experience across a broad stack of tools and platforms, from Sprout Social to Hubspot, Mailchimp, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Elementor and other development tools
  • Experience working with client accounts, including prompt, friendly, energetic communication
  • Ability to project manage and/or work directly with clients
  • Comfortable working across multiple brand accounts at once in an agency environment
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Social media management experience, including engagement and understanding of individual social algorithms
  • Expertise in email marketing tools and platforms
  • Experience with CRM tools
  • Experience developing visual media, including both photo and videography
  • 5+ years experience in marketing, creative writing
  • BA in Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field

DETAILS

  • Initial 10-20 hours per week, with a potential for a progressive increase
  • $35-50 hourly rate
  • Reports to the Creative Director
  • Must be located in EST timezone
