Job Description:

About role:

The Process Excellence Leader is responsible for evaluating operational, clinical, and corporate processes, identifying constraints and non-value added work, and empowering process owners to develop new, innovative processes. This role applies process evaluation frameworks (such as Lean) while understanding the processes themselves in order to recommend changes to process owners. This role is accountable for evaluating all downstream impacts of processes and measuring the success of process changes as a driver to large scale company lean initiatives and transformations.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSING:

Education

  • Bachelor s Degree Required

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of leadership in large-scale process transformations within a corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and implement innovative processes with clear value output.
  • Demonstrated proficiency at achieving results through the application of Lean/Six Sigma.
  • Preferably from Healthcare domain
  • Prior experience with training, mentoring, and motivating employees at all levels of the organization.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt mandatory

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as internal process improvement consultant for the enterprise.
  • Communicate continuous improvement progress with customers, suppliers, and the enterprise.
  • Nominate/appoint project team leads and change agents for initiatives.
  • Champion continuous improvement reward and recognition activities, as appropriate.
  • Suggest and aid in the implementation of quality control measures to help achieve short- and long-term success.
  • Evaluates current state operations and identifies opportunities for process improvement to occur.
  • Analyzes existing operational, clinical, and support processes using industry standard frameworks and methodologies for quality and completeness.
  • Provides insightful and actionable feedback on existing processes and works with business process owners to make changes and develop new processes.
  • Assists business owners in developing quality metrics they can use to continue to evaluate the new and existing processes.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to evaluate broad, corporate impacts to process changes. Helps change agents in defining impacted audiences and developing change management plans.
  • Leads process discovery and development activities for technology implementations and other transformative projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Detailed and functional knowledge of the Lean Enterprise methodology and model.
  • Ability to truly analyze the various components of processes to identify and eliminate waste.
  • Ability to uncover hidden work / workflow via conversations, observation, and facilitated sessions.
  • Ability to mentor and motivate co-workers.
  • Ability to lead training sessions.
  • Ability to navigate various power relationships to remove bias and focus objectively on the challenges to be resolved.
  • Self-driven bias toward action in all duties and responsibilities.
  • Strong, demonstrable skills with process mapping tools (e.g. MS Visio).
