Salary:

We are currently seeking an experienced full-time, Material and Texture Artist, to collaborate with our existing team on assets for an upcoming game title. The ideal candidate will be skillful in creating a variety of types of textures, including semi stylized, and have a strong artistic eye. Furthermore, the artist should be comfortable with a technical pipeline involving different tools. Overall, this candidate must be passionate about contributing to the creation of video game experiences beyond simply creating assets. This is a salaried, full-time position reporting to our Plymouth, Michigan studio. This position is open to remote and hybrid applicants.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Produce high quality detailed tile-able and unique textures, including substance materials to be used by the rest of the art team.
  • Create a variety of semi stylized tile-able terrain textures and decals for multiple types of environmental biomes.
  • Create textures using, Substance Painter, and Substance Designer.
  • Create consistent, semi - stylized artwork from concept to finalized asset.
  • Coordinate with games team and art director to ensure project visual and technical standards.
  • Collaborate cross discipline to continually ensure project visuals and technical requirements are met.

Education and/or Experience Desired:

  • 3+ Years professional experience making assets for games as displayed in a visual portfolio.
  • Proficient with standard industry tools such as: Maya, Z-Brush, Substance Painter, and Substance Designer.
  • Strong grasp of material properties, color, form, composition.
  • Experience working in a PBR asset creation pipeline.
  • Experience working with game engines.
  • Well-developed communication, teamwork and collaboration skills.

Bonuses:

  • Degree or certification in 3D art, digital art, or related discipline.
  • High level experience creating substance materials.
  • Experience creating 3D assets, and vfx.
  • Experience working with remote team members.
  • Experience working on a 1st person PC/Console game.
