The Coats Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is responsible for maintaining and enhancing BI systems, including server administration, configuration, and performance tuning, while resolving production issues and managing change requests. In addition to core BI functions, this role includes secondary support for SAP ERP systems, assisting with design, development, and testing under the guidance of the Lead SAP ERP Systems Analyst.

BI Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Manage BI systems: Design, develop, and implement various enterprise reporting solutions (ERP).
  • BI Server Administration: Handle installation, upgrades, configuration, license management, backups, and load balancing
  • Monitor Performance: Track server activity and archive logs to identify and resolve potential performance issues, ensuring business continuity during disasters.
  • Issue Resolution: Ensure timely resolution of production issues and support tickets within the BI environment.
  • Change Requests: Facilitate change requests, keeping all relevant parties informed about the impacts on project schedules. Ensure necessary approvals and modifications
  • Stakeholder Communication: Participate in meetings, reviews, and user group discussions, effectively communicating with stakeholders and business groups

ERP Responsibilities:

  • Support ERP Lead: Assist the Lead SAP ERP Systems Analyst as needed, including assisting with their day-to-day tasks and serving as a backup when required.
  • Systems Contribution: Under the guidance of the Systems Administration Manager, contribute to various systems activities and projects, assisting with the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of application programs.

Duties:

  • Utilize SAP S4 Hana for configuration and testing
  • Work with end users to translate business problems into system requirements
  • Conduct unit testing to meet specifications, perform ad hoc analysis, and validate data
  • Evaluating user change requests and obtaining approval to make modifications
  • Ask relevant questions to define business requirements and conceptualize them into system designs, including building prototypes.
  • Maintain accurate data and documentation with a focus on precision. Develop accurate written materials.
  • Demonstrate strong documentation skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel features, including formulas, pivot tables, and v-lookups

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in BI.
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Experienced in performing business process design, requirements gathering, and gap analysis
  • Experienced Microsoft Excel user including creating formulas, pivot tables, v-look ups, etc
  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills with a strong focus
