Role Summary:
The Senior Staff System Integration Engineer Controls is responsible for spearheading and overseeing the integration of various controls systems for CARIAD s Software Defined Vehicle (SDV). This individual will need strong technical skills, be a versatile engineer with a systems-level approach to problem-solving and be able to deliver vehicles with reliable hardware and software systems in collaboration with various stakeholders.
Role Responsibilities:
Integration Efforts
- Lead integration efforts for various SDV controls subsystems, ensuring their seamless interoperability.
- Lead the development efforts to ensure stability of software stack, including embedded software, core services, and applications.
- Ensure E2E functionality and performance at a vehicle level
Test Efforts
- Lead the development and maintainance of test assets such as benchs, HILs, and Labcar used for system integration
- Lead efforts for test, validate and debug s/w for real time embedded systems
- Integrate and test software in the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Lead the establishment of software integration process in collaboration with development teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive software development solutions.
General Skills:
- Proficient in agile software development environment.
- Analytical and debugging skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Collaborate and work with multiple teams across geographies and time zones.
Required Specialized Skills:
- Working knowledge with vehicle dynamics and vehicle controls
- Proven track record of shepherding automotive systems from inception to production.
- Proven track record of integrating vehicle level features
- Experience in embedded systems test and development.
- Proficient with CAN, LIN, Automotive ETH.
- Experience with PCAPs, Wireshark, CANoe, CANdb++, etc.
- Experience debugging harness and hardware issues.
Desired Skills:
- Deep knowledge of controls algorithm development methodology
- Leadership experience in integration teams is preferred.
Workplace Flexibility:
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally when required
- Occasional extended working hours as needed
Years of Relevant Experience:
- 10+ years related experience in software integration or equivalent
Required Education:
- BS in computer science, robotics, physics, engineering, numerical modeling or a related subject with outstanding grades or equivalent work experience
Desired Education:
- MS in computer science, robotics, physics, engineering, numerical modeling or a related subject with outstanding grades or equivalent work experience
Compensation
Salary range is dependent on factors such as geographical differentials, credentials or certifications, industry-based experience, qualification and training. In the city of Mountain View, California, the salary range for this position is $149,000 - 193,500.
