About Tennr:

Today, when a doctor refers a patient to a specialist, they send that referral via fax. (Yes, in 2024, 90% of provider-provider communication is a 1980s fax). Naturally, a doctor wants their patient to receive quality care as quickly as possible – but messy documentation, lengthy clinical reviews, and a constant back and forth over fax slows everything down. And the document work isn’t just data entry. It’s fine-tooth reasoning over dozens of pages of clinical information at a level of complexity that has largely stumped existing automation systems (and tired humans).

Tennr built an automations platform centered around our suite of document-reading models (like RaeLLM, a 7B model trained on 3M+ medical documents) to help your doctor ensure nothing is missed and help schedule your appointment so you can get better, faster.

Tennr is a NYC-based tech company that launched out of Y-Combinator and is backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Andreesen Horowitz, Foundation Capital, The New Normal Fund, and other top investors.

About the role:

Behind every document our models process, there is a patient who is waiting to receive care.

Every automation we build is in service of healthcare providers who are operating in service of patients. As such, we are looking for a product owner to drive action on our new Patient Operations team and help keep our automations performing at the highest standard of success.

To succeed in containing this inherently probabilistic technology inside of a reliable experience healthcare providers can depend on, you need to be data obsessed, operationally savvy, pretty technical, and most importantly, consistent in your pursuit.

There are a few ways our automations help patients:

  • Processing their documentation faster helps them get to the scheduling process faster
  • Giving healthcare providers visibility over their operations allows them to plan resources better which allows them to service patients better
  • Reducing the administrative burden allows providers to spend more on clinicians to provide more care to more patients

You will have coverage over our entire suite of models and machine learning applications to ensure we’re maximizing all of these value points. Creating visualizations and alerts, finely combing through data to keep it high quality, and coming up with plans to optimize the patient scheduling experience.

This role is a very cross-functional one. You will be working closely with our Front End and Machine Learning Engineering Teams as well as our Solutions Architects and Customer Success Managers to make sure our product is functioning in service of the patients. Expect to be on customer facing calls leading discovery, educating on best practices, and explaining Tennr’s edge at a high-level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Automation Excellence for Patient Operations: Lead the development and optimization of Tennr's automation suite, ensuring it delivers a high standard of performance for healthcare providers and, ultimately, patients.
  • Optimize Patient Scheduling Processes: Oversee automation workflows to improve patient scheduling efficiency, including reducing documentation processing time and enhancing healthcare providers' resource planning capabilities.
  • Data Quality and Visualization: Create visualizations and alerts to monitor the quality and performance of models. Conduct detailed data analysis to maintain high data quality standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure Operational Reliability: Maintain the reliability of Tennr’s probabilistic machine learning technology within a consistent and dependable user experience for healthcare providers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Front End and Machine Learning Engineering Teams, Solutions Architects, and Customer Success Managers to ensure the product supports patient operations effectively. Collaborate to solve complex problems and ensure optimal product functionality.
  • Customer Engagement and Best Practices: Participate in customer-facing calls to lead discovery, gather insights, educate on best practices, and demonstrate the value and edge of Tennr's automation solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Product Management: 3+ years of product management experience AND 3+ years of engineering experience, preferably with automation or machine learning products. Experience with sql is highly desirable.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Strong ability to analyze data, create visualizations, and derive actionable insights. Experience with defining key performance indicators and using data to drive product improvements.
  • Technical Acumen: Understanding of machine learning applications, data management, and automation workflows. Ability to work closely with engineering teams and understand the technical aspects of product functionality.
  • Operational Savvy: Ability to manage complex workflows and maintain high operational standards in a regulated environment. Experience in improving operational efficiency and reliability through technology solutions.
  • Collaboration and Cross-Functionality: Proven experience working across multiple functions, including engineering, solutions architecture, and customer success. Strong communication skills to facilitate teamwork and drive consensus.
  • Customer-Centric Focus: Passion for enhancing patient experiences and supporting healthcare providers in delivering better care. Ability to translate customer needs into product requirements and solutions.
  • Leadership and Consistency: Ability to lead initiatives, work with probabilistic technologies, and maintain a consistent pursuit of product excellence.
  • Agile Product Development: Hands-on experience with Agile practices, including managing backlogs, sprint planning, and working in a fast-paced development environment.

Compensation Range: $120K - $170K
