Position Overview

Stanley is seeking a Senior Global Compliance Manager to grow and mature the Compliance and Safety function for Stanley worldwide. This role will develop a long-term strategy and manage a global network, as part of the Quality department. Responsibilities include identifying and managing to global and regional product and packaging compliance/regulatory requirements, developing programs and working with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance. You will also own and manage Product Safety across Stanley s New Product portfolios.

What You'll Do

  • Provide Product regulatory and safety expertise and leadership for Stanley. Identify and develop regulatory analysis and executive level recommendations for managing compliance requirements for new and existing business initiatives
  • Responsible for the creation, updating and communication of global regulatory strategies for entire product portfolio.
  • Build, implement and launch policies to operationalize global and regional regulatory and compliance requirements at scale
  • Enhance and improve current compliance programs and develop programs for potential new product lines
  • Promote aligned, innovative global regulatory solutions drawing upon global and regional regulatory expertise and strategies. Develop and maintain accurate metrics to measure Compliance and Safety program health and proactively identify risks
  • Represent Stanley as the point of contact with regional regulatory agencies (such as FDA and CPSC in North America) and lead company delegation for regulatory authority meetings.
  • Work with regional leaders to ensure consistent execution of compliance programs
  • Monitor the development of new regulatory requirements or guidance documents and advise product teams of the impact on the business or development programs. Actively monitor US Federal, State and Regional activity related to product safety and chemical regulations
  • Ensure exemplary behavior, ethics, and transparency within the company and with regulatory agencies. Ensure all regulatory development process commitments are clearly communicated, monitored and met.
  • Research and develop product testing and performance requirements for new product categories. Work with 3rd party labs to draft and implement testing protocols and/ or vendor guidance documents when needed.
  • Continuously evolve and update the product testing protocols to remain inline with industry and regulatory standards while upholding Stanley s quality standards
  • Mentor and develop product compliance professions within Stanley who are actively assisting in meeting product objectives

Who You Are

  • Expert. Proven track record of Product Compliance Management in the consumer products space with an exceptional understanding of regional regulatory obligations

  • Leader. Proven ability to influence, with varying levels of seniority within an organization; experience mentoring team members; Ability to think big picture as well as dive into and understand the technical granular details of the product
  • Creative Problem-Solver. A resilient, focused problem solver and self-starter with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a complex and ambiguous environment
  • Ambitious. Proactive and able to define and implement projects independently; capable of designing creative solutions to strategic and tactical challenges
  • Communicator. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree
  • 10+ years of experience in a global product compliance leadership role preferred
  • 8+ years running product compliance and safety, preferably in a leadership or role or technical advisory capacity
  • Proficiency in IT systems and processes

Salary Range

$130,000-160,000 annually

The base pay range for this position is for a successful candidate within the state listed. The successful candidate s actual pay will be based on multiple factors, such as work location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience.
