Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the overall quality management system of the company. The QA Manager must have in depth knowledge of the ISO and AS standards and be able to implement them across the board. The QA Manager must be able to resolve issues, issue and respond to CA's and PA's, manage nonconforming product, and be the Quality Management System Representative. The QA Manager must be personable and able to interact with various customers efficiently. Interaction with internal personnel is also vital for implementation of a quality management system that is to be embraced by all employees. The Quality Assurance Manager is a working manager that oversees the daily operations of the Quality department and ensures the site(s) Quality Management System (QMS) is established, maintained and improved upon and must be able to perform the following tasks effectively and efficiently:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in the balancing of compliance practices with other business initiatives to allow all objectives of the business to be satisfied.
  • Responsible for managerial and technical leadership of the Quality staff which includes overseeing professionals and/or technical level direct reports in the completion of Quality processes and improvement programs
  • Drives the development of robust processes that affect the quality of the product by planning, coordinating, and executing tactical department projects and corporate initiatives to meet established deadlines and policy deployment objectives
  • Responsible for monitoring and analyzing processes and/or product outputs, identifying systemic problems and opportunity areas, providing data and direction to the site(s), and work with team members to drive process improvements to work toward zero-defect quality performance.
  • Ensure that the site and suppliers quality management system consistently meets or exceeds customers and companies requirements.
  • Prepares, monitors, and responsible for budget, staffing, and business results of the Quality team
  • Perform contract review on new and repeat orders
  • Lead and/or assist internal product and systems audits as required to maintain AS9100 certification
  • Maintains strong communication with customers, internal management team, and suppliers to ensure quality level is meeting expectations.
  • Must be proficient in engineering drawing standards and GD&T, will be responsible for assisting engineering with drawing reviews as needed.

Experience:

  • Minimum of eight to ten years' quality experience in an Aerospace production environment, including supervision
  • Be well versed in ISO9001 and AS9100 rev D Quality Management Systems Requirements.
  • Experience with Lean, FMEA, MRB, NCMR, CAPA, Root Cause Analysis, Supplier management, Internal Auditing, Key Characteristics, and establishing Quality Metrics
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or related field. (Significant Quality Management experience may be considered in absence of a degree)
