We are seeking an entry-level Staff Accountant with 1 – 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience and looking for a fast growth path.

Salary/Hourly Rate

$60k – $65k (Permanent Hire)

Position Overview

This ideal candidate for the Staff Accountant role will need to have a working knowledge of GAAP. The right fit for this Staff Accountant role will also possess excellent organizational skills, the ability to multitask, exceptional communication skills at all levels of business, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate must maintain strict confidentiality and discretion with both business and personal responsibilities. This individual will be responsible for providing full-scale accounting support to include a variety of financial and non-financial tasks on a monthly and annual basis. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, detail-oriented, adaptable to a fast-paced environment, and knowledgeable in creative problem-solving.

Responsibilities Of The Staff Accountant

  • Record and apply customer payments daily.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly client statements.
  • Be a key member of the accounting team and the month-end process, including but not limited to preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Process vendor invoices, returns, and credit memos on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain digital records of invoices, vendor documents, and other relevant AP/AR documentation.
  • Assist with the calculation of accounting accruals at month-end.
  • Analyze and provide monthly insight into expenses, financial trends, and the company’s overall liquidity status.
  • Assist the Controller with various regulatory and financial audits.

Qualifications For The Staff Accountant

  • 1 – 3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
  • Prior experience with AR/AP systems.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong understanding of Excel.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains or MS Dynamics 365 – Business Central a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated sense of urgency.
  • Ability to meet consistent deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with members of many different departments.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to think creatively and suggest improvements for processes.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to shifting needs.
  • Strong sense of ownership, a positive attitude, and a willingness to be a team player.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
