Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a scalable and secure Tableau Server architecture
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Tableau Server environments
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of Tableau Server
- Implement and maintain optimal disaster recovery processes and procedures, to include External File Store
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and provide tailored solutions
- Optimize server performance and find root causes of service degradation
- Create and monitor key performance metrics for reliable capacity planning
- Stay updated with the latest Tableau features, updates, and industry trends
Requirements:
- Cloud Implementation (Data on Cloud, Integration with Cloud)
- Proven experience as a Tableau Server Administrator or Architect
- Strong knowledge of Tableau Server architecture and administration
- Experience with server performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Experience in network security and data governance
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with running Tableau Server within premises of a large company
- Experience integrating on-premise Tableau Server with off-premise (external) infrastructure
Desired skills:
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell
- Experience with capacity planning and stress testing tools
- Experience with standing up and maintaining Tableau Server in Microsoft Azure (cloud), Windows, and Linux
- Experience with industry BI/Reporting toolsets including Tableau, MicroStrategy, Cognos, Power BI, ThoughtSpot, Starburst
- Experience with connecting to Hadoop, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, Netezza, Teradata, and SQL databases
- Experience with Data Science integration and application (Python, R)
- Experience with ETL tools (Trifecta, Alteryx, SSIS, Starburst)
- Experience with programming languages (Python, APIs, Web Data Connectors, Tableau Extensions, JavaScript)
- Experience with Financial services data and large data volumes
