AWS Cloud Database Engineer

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or master s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* 12+ years of Proven experience as a Database Engineer or similar role with a strong focus on cloud environments.
* Expertise in SQL Server, Always On clusters, and secondary databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) with automation skills (Python, Terraform).
* Extensive knowledge of database technologies, especially Postgres, and familiarity with AWS cloud services.
* Proficient in using IAM, EC2, RDS, S3, and observability tools like Splunk and Datadog.
* Strong programming skills in Python and experience with Terraform.
* Optional: Experience with Oracle and SQL Server is a plus.
Responsibilities:
* Design, deploy, and manage highly available and scalable database solutions on AWS platforms.
* Implement and maintain IAM policies and security measures to protect database environments.
* Utilize AWS services such as EC2, RDS, and S3 to optimize database performance and ensure robust disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
* Monitor database systems with tools like Splunk and Datadog to ensure operational health and performance.
* Write and maintain scripts in Python to automate routine DB platform operations.
* Develop and apply infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using Terraform to manage cloud resources efficiently.
* Conduct performance tuning of database systems to meet the specific requirements of our applications.
* Ensure compliance with the latest industry standards and security practices.
* Manage and support PostgreSQL database technology with optional DB skills such as Oracle and SQL Server.
