Job Purpose: The Enterprise Data Management Architect will design, implement, and manage the enterprise data management platform that supports Business Intelligence (BI), analytics, and reporting needs across various GTRI business functions. This role will assess and enhance GTRI s data inventories, including data sources, master and reference data, data dictionaries, and metadata management. This position will interact consistently with management and personnel within GTRI and collaborate with external service providers and Georgia Tech campus units.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive short-term and long-term data strategy roadmap aligned with GTRI s strategic initiatives, covering Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Marts, Operational Data Stores, Metadata, Master Data, and Big Data (Data Lake, Data Lakehouse).
• Create, maintain, and evolve data architecture blueprints and reference architectures for current, transitional, and future states.
• Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts to reflect a practical Enterprise Data Model and Architecture.
• Foster innovation by experimenting with and recommending the latest industry tools and technologies to address complex enterprise-level data challenges.
• Collaborate with the ESD ETL, Data Warehouse, and Reporting team to gather and store data from internal and external sources, implementing data quality measures, including profiling and quality rules management.
• Work with multiple functions (security, legal, etc.) to establish standards and policies ensuring proper classification, security, and protection of enterprise information assets through appropriate access management and privacy controls (both in-flight and at rest).
• Manage information security, conducting sensitivity analysis and managing access and audit control systems, encryption, and other data protection techniques.
• Collaborate with ESD Database Administrators (DBAs) to optimize Oracle database systems for performance.
• Facilitate the integration of data visualization tools (such as Tableau and Cognos) with Oracle database, IBM DataStage, and other data sources to meet reporting and metrics requirements.

Qualifications:

Experience: 10+ years of experience architecting on-prem and cloud-based enterprise data solutions.

Bachelor s or master s degree in computer science or a related technology field.

Relevant industry certifications are a plus.

Technical Expertise:

• Proven expertise in delivering end-to-end data solutions within an enterprise, including Data Warehousing, Analytics, BI, Big Data, Operational Data Store, Metadata, and Master Data (on-prem/cloud).
• Data Architecture: In-depth knowledge of data process modelling for enterprise and business function-specific data architecture designed for scalability, consistency, integrity, and quality.
• Data Governance: Familiarity with data governance frameworks that develop an Enterprise Data Management (EDM) framework aligned with overall enterprise data governance policies.
• Visualization Tools: Proficient in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Cognos Analytics.
• Technology Platforms: Knowledge of technology platforms such as MuleSoft and IBM DataStage.
• Data Management: Understanding of data management concepts, including structured and unstructured data, batch and real-time integrations.
• Process Development: Experience in developing processes that enhance data models to improve data accessibility and facilitate data-driven decision-making across the organization.
• Integration Knowledge: Solid knowledge of general data integration and conversion scripting, programming, and workflow development.
