Join our high-performing Project Approval Group Team as an Underwriter, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our clients' financial journeys. We’re looking for passionate, detail-oriented individuals who are ready to contribute to a culture of excellence and innovation.

As an Underwriter at JPMorgan Chase, you will bring your analytical expertise for reviewing, Housing Assistance Programs, Condominium, Co-op and PUD, project leaseholds, deed restrictions and master level insurance in compliance with GSE and Chase guidelines. You will analyze financial documents to make informed decisions, while working closely with internal teams to provide support and guidance throughout the loan process. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate project appraisal budgets, questionnaires, financial statements, reserve studies, Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions, Offering Plans, Amendments, By-Laws, surveys, plat maps, Engineer Report, Environmental Assessments, Leasehold Agreements, Insurance Declarations and Policies, to determine acceptability with Chase lending policies.
  • Work with internal partners to assist in determining if a project or individual loan requests meet eligible Condo, Cooperative and Attached PUD guidelines.
  • Achieve targets for productivity, quality, and partner satisfaction.
  • Contact outside third parties on occasion to obtain additional information, as required.
  • Ensure all underwriting processes comply with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • One year of Project Approval Group Underwriting
  • Two years of collateral processing, underwriting, or management experience
  • Strong understanding of financial documents and appraisals
  • Working knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, underwriting software and financial analysis tools

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, or related field
