Vice President of Software Engineering

Our client is a leading Web3 company backed by $150 million in funding from top investors. They are pushing the boundaries of payment technology to enhance global brand engagement and have exclusively engaged BlockDelta’s services to search for a high-calibre VP of Software Engineering to join their talented team.

In this position, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s technological future, responsible for developing cutting-edge Web3 products, including loyalty programs and wallet solutions. Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with the CTO and executive team to ensure engineering projects align with business objectives and strategic goals.
• Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of engineering personnel to cultivate a high-performing team.
• Implement strong security protocols and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards in all software development activities.
• Promote collaboration across departments to align engineering efforts with product management, finance, marketing, and sales.
• Establish and oversee effective project management methodologies to guarantee timely project delivery within defined scope and budget.
• Design and maintain scalable infrastructure and architecture to accommodate the company's growth and changing requirements.
• Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, fostering innovation, experimentation, and the adoption of best practices within the engineering team.
• Lead efforts to enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability, ensuring an optimal user experience for customers.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including customers and partners, to collect and integrate feedback into the product development lifecycle.
• Adopt a hands-on approach to tackle complex challenges, remaining willing to engage directly in coding when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar discipline.
• Proven experience in an Engineering Leadership role, such as Director, Senior Director, VP of Engineering, or CTO at a startup.
• Background in launching and scaling technical products in early-stage or growth-stage startup settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to various audiences and stakeholders, representing the company effectively to customers.
• Resilient mindset, capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a strong sense of urgency.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders and projects, often with limited resources and information.
• Solid understanding of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency payment systems, particularly within networks like Ethereum.
