Sheet Metal Workers, Local 33, now the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers, Local 33 (SMART) is looking for qualified HVAC Installers in your area. Our contractors need employees. We are looking for people who want to get paid what they are worth! When you are a member of SMART Local 33, we will help you find work and ensure you have good pay and great benefits.

HVAC Installer and HVAC Service Tech Benefits:

Family Health Care: 80/20 plan in-network. $500 per person/$1,000 per family annual deductible. This is part of the pay package, and no money is deducted from your check to pay for it.

Vision, Dental, Lasik, short-term disability, death and accidental dismemberment insurance (all or nothing): $58 single/$105 family per month.

Retirement: From $10.76/hr. to $21.13/hr. (depending on experience/classification) contributed to two different retirement accounts for each hour worked. This is all in addition to your hourly pay.

HVAC Installer and HVAC Service Tech Responsibilities Include:

  • Installing duct work

  • Fabricating duct work

  • Furnace and other heating system change outs and installation

  • Preventative maintenance of heating and cooling systems

  • Trouble shooting defects in heating and cooling systems

The contractors we work with perform residential installation and service, light commercial service and install and commercial service and install. We will place you with a contractor that is looking for someone with your level of experience and skills.

HVAC Installer and HVAC Service Tech Experience: HVAC experience is necessary. If you have worked as an installer, as a service technician, in maintenance or construction in the past or possess the skills to learn quick and are motivated to succeed then you will be a great fit in this role.

HVAC Installer and HVAC Service Tech Wages: In the Akron, Ohio, area, the minimum starting (if they are qualified journey level workers) wage for employees are:

  • Residential HVAC Service Tech: $ 22.20 per hour plus benefits (plus on-call pay).

  • Residential HVAC Installer: $22.20 per hour plus benefits.

  • Commercial HVAC Service Tech: $36.21 per hour plus benefits (plus on-call pay).

  • Commercial HVAC Installer: $36.21 per hour plus benefits.
