Substation Technician / Relay Technician / Relay Engineer
Substation Electrical Testing and Commissioning Specialist
Work Location: Nationwide Travel
Home base office in Houston, TX.
Job type and Duration: Long-term Contract
W2 Hourly pay range flexible depending on experience level.

Our client is hiring multiple Substation and Relay Electrical Testing and Commissioning Specialists across all different skill levels for their National Field roles.
The clients projects are / could be anywhere in the USA.
You might be at one location for a week and other locations for a couple of months, but you are always on the road.
They do allow and pay for travel home every month for a long weekend.
The Electric Utility substation and Relay Electrical Testing and Commissioning Specialist performs commissioning and testing activities in the field. This position is responsible for providing commissioning and testing solutions.
Experience performing testing, calibration and commissioning of protective relays for Substations using software such as:
Doble Protection Suite, Enoserv RTS, Megger AVTS or Omicron.
Perform installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of protective relaying equipment.
Perform function testing of substation control circuits on relay panel, transformers & circuit breaker change-outs.
Prepare and recommend testing & commissioning solutions to the Project Manager or client.
Delivers solutions to the Project Manager or Senior Engineer to address future client needs and provide cost analysis on testing solutions.
Ensures the performance of all field testing on substation equipment is completed accurately and safely.
Performs demonstration tests, as required, which are a series of functional tests designed to simulate real-world conditions to ensure proper operation of yard equipment.
Execute substation equipment test procedures.
