Influencer + Community Manager
Work Structure: Hybrid (2 days/week in San Diego, CA)
Job Summary:
The Influencer + Community Manager will develop and execute comprehensive social media and influencer strategies that drive organic growth and build brand authenticity and authority as an expert in skin health. This role involves collaborating with the CEO and other internal teams on creative content strategy, managing content production, and fostering relationships with influencers and online communities, with a focus on Instagram and YouTube.
The Influencer + Community Manager will work closely with marketing, product, and external partners to ensure social media and influencer efforts align with the overall marketing strategy, brand positioning, and product goals. This role will oversee influencer campaigns, community building, and social media monitoring. The ideal candidate will have experience working with premium brands, managing external agencies, and leading cross-functional efforts that amplify a brand s core message.
Specific Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning:
  • Develop a comprehensive social media and influencer strategy aligned with brand goals, focusing on authenticity, authority, and long-term influencer partnerships
  • Lead overarching influencer strategy and relationship management to source and cultivate brand-relevant creators, focusing on long-term relationships that generate effective content and meaningful brand promotion
  • Create platform-specific strategies, audience targeting, content timing, and optimization recommendations for all social channels (existing and emerging)
  • Analyze social media trends, competitive landscapes, and consumer behavior to inform recommendations
  • Manage and optimize content creation and campaign budgets to allocate resources effectively
Content Creation:
  • Execute approved strategic plans across all social platforms, ensuring that the content produced is aligned with each channel's requirements and brand standards
  • Oversee content production, review shot lists, added content, and thumbnails, and approve edits before submitting to the CEO
  • Work cross-functionally with social media, digital, and creative teams to execute influencer-first campaigns that meet departmental needs and align creator selection, messaging, and deliverables with overall goals
Influencer & Community Partnerships:
  • Source, cultivate, and manage a network of influencers who align with business objectives, and brand values
  • Identify relevant influencers for seeding, the ambassador program, and new launches to ensure a strong talent roster
  • Develop and pitch creative campaign ideas that integrate the brand s story in an engaging way
  • Oversee influencer and ambassador events, from ideation to execution, ensuring alignment with campaign and budget goals
  • Analyze influencer outreach performance, providing clear insights and recommendations to refine strategies
  • Forge and maintain relationships with brand ambassadors, affiliates, creators and micro-influencers to build and grow the brand s community
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment by actively engaging with our community, addressing concerns, and sparking meaningful conversations that reflect our brand s core values
  • Build and nurture strong partnerships with influencers and brand ambassadors to boost our message, encouraging organic mentions that drive brand loyalty and increase earned media
  • Leverage advanced social listening techniques to guide content creation and provide valuable insights on product feedback from our community
  • Ensure prompt and thoughtful responses to comments, messages, and inquiries across all social media platforms
  • Foster a sense of community and loyalty among ambassadors, providing ongoing support, feedback, and exclusive brand opportunities to strengthen relationships and encourage long-term collaboration
Social Agency Management:
  • Assess the needs of external partners, develop RFPs, and recommend partners to work with. Manage negotiations, contracts, and ongoing agency relationships
  • Conduct monthly reviews with external agencies to evaluate performance and redirect efforts for improvement as needed
Reporting & Analysis:
  • Analyze social media and influencer performance metrics, creating comprehensive reports on key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Provide monthly Social Insights reports, recommending adjustments to optimize future campaigns
  • Measure and evaluate the performance of influencer engagements, delivering actionable insights to guide future outreach
Social Monitoring & Community Engagement:
  • Stay updated with social media trends and emerging platforms to keep the brand relevant and competitive
  • Monitor social media channels for brand mentions, trends, and feedback, ensuring no comment is left behind
  • Collaborate with marketing and customer experience teams to provide consistent communication and foster community engagement
Key Competencies:
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to craft and implement social media and influencer strategies that drive brand engagement and growth
  • Content Creation: Expertise in producing high-quality content (writing, design, multimedia) tailored to each platform
  • Analytics: Proficiency in social media analytics tools to measure and optimize performance
  • Community & Influencer Management: Skilled in fostering relationships with online communities and influencers
  • Platform Expertise: Knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc.) and best practices
  • Campaign & Event Management: Experience managing influencer campaigns and events, from ideation to execution, while staying within budget
  • Brand Voice: Ability to maintain consistent messaging across all channels.Collaboration: Strong cross-functional skills to ensure cohesive and integrated influencer and social media strategies
Experience Required:
  • 5+ years of experience managing social media and influencer marketing for premium brands, with a minimum of 3 years working with brands that have a large social media presence (250k+ followers)
  • Proven experience developing engaging content and managing content calendars
  • Expertise in using social media analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights) to generate actionable insights
  • Experience managing multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously while coordinating with internal teams and external partners
  • In-depth knowledge of major social media platforms and influencer marketing best practices
Salary: $90K-$115K
