Location: Various locations across Alberta

As a Plumbing Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting plumbing systems and installations to ensure they comply with local plumbing codes, safety regulations, and standards. Your role will be essential in maintaining the safety, functionality, and compliance of plumbing systems within the jurisdiction.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect plumbing systems, installations, and equipment to ensure compliance with local plumbing codes, safety standards, and regulations.
  • Review plumbing plans and blueprints to verify they meet all required codes and standards.
  • Conduct inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing systems at various stages of construction and installation.
  • Identify and document violations, deficiencies, or hazards in plumbing systems and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of inspections, compliance, and enforcement actions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to plumbers, contractors, and property owners regarding plumbing codes and safety practices.
  • Respond to inquiries and complaints related to plumbing installations and code compliance.
  • Stay updated on changes in plumbing codes, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure accurate inspections and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other municipal departments and agencies to address and resolve plumbing-related issues.


Requirements
  • Relevant certification or diploma in Plumbing Inspection, Plumbing Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a plumbing inspector or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of plumbing codes and safety regulations.
  • Excellent observational and analytical skills for assessing plumbing installations and identifying issues.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with plumbers, contractors, and municipal officials.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing inspection reports and records.
  • Ability to stay current with evolving plumbing codes, regulations, and industry practices.
