Summary
Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to manage the Tower Mapping Division within the Inspections Department, focusing primarily in the telecom vertical. These services include but are not limited to various technical evaluations as well as project management, client management, and administrative support services associated with turnkey structural engineering projects. This position will require a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the structural engineering/inspections field and demonstrated experience performing and managing structural mappings of telecommunication infrastructure.

Education
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution. Engineer in training (EIT) or Engineering Intern EI certification, is preferred.

Positional Responsibilities
Inspection Department Production Lead - Mappings
- Coordinate and manage the production of mappings related to above and below grade field inspection service deliverables (Tower Mapping, Foundation Mapping, Mount Mapping, L&A Mapping, Pre-Mod Mapping, and similar).
- Lead the technical operating procedures for above and below grade inspection services, including technical management policies for internal field crews to support inspection operations.
- Serve as the lead technical resource for field crews; responding to inspector queries, issues, concerns.
- Lead coaching/training to teams as necessary to improve delivered product.
- Work with department staff to proactively track mapping field work completion status, taking action as schedule expectations dictate.
- Proactively track field crew mapping performance per company expectations, addressing and escalating issues as required.
- Lead the development/implementation of mapping protocols and standard operating procedures for items such as field data collection, field crew management & performance assessment, and report compilation.
- Lead the training of field crews regarding mapping technical, safety, and company policy procedures.
- Maintain, enforce, and promote company safety guidelines.
- Work with department colleagues to properly distribute field personnel and equipment assets to meet client scheduling demands including assisting with field schedule compilation and execution.
- Client development, management, and maintenance.
- Assist the Director in the identification and onboarding of potential crew members.
Includes developing and implementing technical procedures and protocols regarding above grade data collection with the assistance and input from department personnel for approval & implementation.
- Conduit for technical related issues, questions, protocols, and managing dispute resolution of field & reporting (technical) queries.
- Development and periodic review/modification of field pacing expectations for gathering technical data for the various mapping production scopes of work.
- Development and periodic review/modification of required technical inclusions of field note templates for each scope within the AGI vertical.
- Development (in conjunction with the CAD Department) and periodic review/modification of the AGI CAD standards for end deliverable report compilation including standardization of measurement reporting to ensure consistency across all deliverables.
- Development and periodic review/modification of a quality control system for the engineering review of AGI deliverables including education sessions to address deficiencies.
- Development of a field training program for entry level CAD staff to develop a hands-on technical understanding of tower structures
- Development/Implementation of the technical aspects of the written AGI Training Program including:
- General overview of tower components including their structural function
- General overview of why data is collected and the usage of said data for each AGI scope
- Instruction on the proper measuring device and/or data collection tools/instruments to be utilized on the various tower components including the degree of accuracy required and standard of care.
- Development of the technical requirements and skill levels of the various field personnel levels within the inspection field position hierarchy including expected benchmarks during the progression through each position level.
- Development of both a written and practical examination for field personnel relative to determining technical benchmark experience levels for utilization in review of and the promotion of field personnel within the inspection field position hierarchy.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and advanced Excel functions is required
- Knowledge of structural analysis and design software including TNX Tower, RISA 3D, and foundation design/analysis programs is desired
- Functional proficiency with AutoCAD is preferred
Experience/Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience and demonstrated proficiency in structural mappings of telecommunication structures, including tower and foundation components
- Working knowledge and familiarity with codes and standards relating to telecommunication structures, including TIA/EIA-222 requirements
- Ability to interpret design drawings regarding spatial relationships of various telecommunications infrastructure as it relates to telecommunication structural design requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with contractors, clients or their representatives, jurisdictional officials, and other engineering vendors
- Knowledge of bolted and welded connections
- Knowledge of tower hardware and components
- Knowledge of tower reinforcement/erection and tower construction practices preferred
