Job Description
Position Summary: The Database Administrator III provides technical expertise, oversight, and maintenance of ConServe s multiple database environments. The Database Administrator III will work collaboratively with the Infrastructure and Application teams to ensure that environments and solutions are reliable, sustainable, and positioned for future growth.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Establish, monitor, maintain, and manage database health and performance indicators.
- Design, implement, maintain, and manage database back-up and recovery processes.
- Design, evaluate, and implement practices/processes for system and data security.
- Design, install, maintain, and upgrade the organization s databases (development, testing, training, and production).
- Enhances staff accomplishments and competence by providing technical and procedural mentoring/ guidance for less experienced team members as needed.
- Troubleshoots production issues, identifying root cause and implementing sound technical resolutions in a timely manner.
- Confirms software solutions by conducting tests and modifying code and/or configuration.
- Provides reference documentation by writing and maintaining functional and technical specifications.
- Maintains system and programming guidelines by adhering to the software development lifecycle.
- Contributes to team effort by keeping peers and management informed of potential changes that could impact daily operations, staffing needs, schedules, or work deliverables.
- Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Monitors production environments and provides off-hours support to ensure maximum system availability to user base.
- Adherence to ConServe s Blueprint Quality Management System, Code of Conduct, and Compliance Program

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Skills/ Requirements:
- Minimum five (5) years of database administration work experience
- Significant experience in the administration of Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server environments. Experience with PostgreSQL desired.
- Experience with database backup, indexing, database performance optimization.
- Expert SQL query development and optimization skills.
- Strong knowledge of Database and Information Security principles and controls preferred
- Working knowledge of application development and/or programming languages preferred.
- Experience with reporting environments including SSRS preferred.
- This is a hybrid opportunity. Must reside in the Rochester, NY area.
- Solid experience with Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical problems to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and multitask with limited supervision contributing as a team player.
- Experience handling multiple changing priorities and meeting deadlines in a professional manner.
- Must show a sense of urgency, being able to perform and multitask under pressure
- Must be able to provide on-call support on a rotating basis
- Ability to travel between ConServe s offices as needed.
- U.S. Citizenship or lawful Permanent Resident alien with three or more years as a permanent resident in the United States.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required Government Security Clearance
- No conflicts of interest with ConServe or our Clients

- The employee must frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to sit or remain sedentary for your entire work shift (8, 9, or 10 hour shift)
- Must occasionally be able to bend, move, climb, and lie down in awkward positions.
- Ability to type on a computer for your entire work shift (8, 9, or 10 hour shift)
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use and reach with hands, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, talk, see, and hear.
- Ability to listen and talk frequently throughout the day.
