Business Technology Integrators (BTI) located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland is looking for a System Administrator (Windows) Level III for a position in Bethesda Maryland

Duties:
  • The Desktop System Engineer Windows serves as an additional escalation resource for the NIDDK Help Desk and computer user community.
  • The Desktop System Engineer s primary responsibilities include administering the central desktop management services (currently BigFix for Windows OS) that are used to provision and deploy computers for staff use as well as perform desktop software deployments, desktop system patching, centralized antivirus management, group policy management, and security endpoint management of all NIDDK desktop systems.
  • The Desktop System Engineer coordinates with the COR and NIDDK/CTB technical staff on all these issues, as well as with the NIDDK/CTB office automation network administration staff on issues having to do with NIDDK office automation networks.
  • Reports on progress; develops tools for system-wide use in developing applications; prepares system documentation.
  • Desktop System Engineers must also monitor and respond to application and system alerts according to established monitoring plans. They must coordinate communications channels during major incidents and record problem investigations in the NIH My IT Service Management System, NIH IRT Portal, JIRA, or designated system in a timely fashion.
  • Qualifications:
  • This position requires a Bachelor s Degree along with at least five (5) years of relevant work experience in IT customer support or an Associate degree or H.S. diploma with at least seven (7) years of relevant work experience.
  • The Desktop Systems Administrator shall have a Level 5 (NACIC) security clearance, or obtain a
  • Level 5 (NACIC) security clearance within six (6) months of employment.
  • Requires technical computer and customer service skills.
  • The Desktop Systems Engineer shall have, at minimum, a Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL) v3. In addition, the Contractor shall provide personnel who hold one or more of the following certifications:
  • MSCE: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (current or current version -1)
  • Jamf Certified Expert (current or current version -1)
  • GSEC: GIAC Security Essentials
  • GCWN: GIAC Certified Windows Security Administrator
  • (ISC) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
