Estimator - Electrical, HVAC, or Plumbing Background

Location: St. Petersburg, FL

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented Estimator with a background in electrical, mechanical, or plumbing disciplines to join our client's team in St. Petersburg, FL. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a degree, ensuring strong technical expertise and a commitment to job stability. If you're passionate about estimating and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

- Manage estimating processes and timelines to meet company objectives, both short and long-term

- Communicate effectively with operations teams and customers to define project scopes and analyze bid documents

- Develop conceptual engineering capabilities, including system selection, layout, and sizing

- Solicit bids from subcontractors and vendors, and distribute support documents

- Estimate interim designs to track and confirm pricing, conducting necessary research for accuracy

- Negotiate pricing, address deficiencies, and build strong relationships with customers

- Provide leadership, direction, and training to assigned estimating team members

- Prepare and present completed estimating packages to company executives, senior management, and operations teams

- Follow up on bid projects and accurately forecast future awards and probabilities

- Collaborate with operations to transfer awarded projects and perform buyouts when necessary

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or plumbing estimating

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software, preferably Accubid, Bluebeam, and/or AutoBid

- Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Organized, detail-oriented, and efficient in managing multiple tasks

- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
