Job Title:Engineering Technician II - Semiconductor

Location: San Jose, CA

Compensation: $33.37 - $49.98 per hour

Overview:

Are you seeking an opportunity to work with today's most advanced thin film processing tools? We are looking for an Engineering Technician II in San Jose, CA to directly interface with customers and support advanced semiconductor equipment, including troubleshooting and installations. This role involves working with high vacuum equipment for Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) and related robotics, and it requires a solid understanding of vacuum technology and the semiconductor field.

Responsibilities:

- Field Service Support: Monitor, inspect, calibrate, and maintain semiconductor process equipment to prevent downtime.

- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve hardware and software-related issues, escalating more complex issues when necessary.

- Technical Documentation:Accurately document maintenance activities and provide detailed field service reports.

- Equipment Installation: Assist with the installation of semiconductor equipment and maintain a record of software revisions.

- Inventory Management: Monitor service parts inventory to ensure sufficient availability for repairs.

- Customer Interaction: Effectively communicate with customers and internal teams, ensuring adherence to customer policies and protocols.

- Training: Provide support and guidance to other technicians.

- Travel Requirements: Domestic and international travel up to 25% may be required for training and field service assignments.

Qualifications:

- Education & Experience: 2-3 years of experience with PVD or semiconductor vacuum equipment and an AS degree (or equivalent experience). A Bachelors degree in engineering is preferred.

- Technical Expertise:** Experience with multi-chamber cluster systems, robotics, PLC, and semiconductor software applications is highly preferred.

- Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.

- Physical Requirements:** Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in cleanroom environments with exposure to mechanical parts, electrical current, and chemicals.

- Travel: Must have a valid drivers license and be able to comply with company driving safety guidelines.

Work Environment:

- Primarily in cleanroom environments (full cleanroom suit, facemask, gloves).

- Exposure to various physical conditions, including proximity to mechanical parts and electrical currents, and working in enclosed spaces or high places.
