This Senior Business Analyst will assist ITS Grants Management with the transition from the Grants Gateway into New York’s Statewide Financial System (SFS). As part of the effort, the Business Analyst will help move existing grants business from the Grants Gateway into the SFS while ensuring that the SFS grants configuration is adequate for NYS Grant Making business.

Qualifications

  • Business Analyst- Analyzes an organization or business domain (real or hypothetical) and documents its business or processes or systems, assessing the business model or its integration with technology with distinct deliverables to a solution.
  • Senior- 60 - 84 Months: Candidate is able to work independently, without assistance and provides guidance to others. May have an advanced education.
  • 60 months experience in performing requirements gathering and business analysis, producing written documentation of requirements; system design and implementation.
  • 36 months experience testing builds of an enterprise IT project, including defect reporting.
  • 36 months experience providing implementation support services for an enterprise IT project.
  • 12 months experience as a state employee or public/private consultant performing Business Analysis activities in support of a state enterprise or agency specific grants or financial management system.

Day-to-Day tasks

  • Engage in requirements gathering and fit/gap analysis, support conceptual and detailed design efforts, and facilitate business process conversion in support of transitioning the Grants Gateway into SFS.
  • Assist in the testing of builds of the SFS Grants Management functionality.
  • Assist with first level help desk queries.
  • Ensure a smooth transition for all users (vendors and state agency) of the Grants Gateway into the SFS for Grants.
  • Management by assisting senior staff with developing user manuals/training materials, assisting agency users with conversion efforts, and assisting all users with the transition.
