Job: Communications Specialist (Social Media)


Location: Miami, FL (Non-remote)


Job type: Full-time, must be able to attend events outside of regular business hours

We are seeking a dynamic Communications Specialist to join our Communications Department. You will work closely with the Vice President of Communications and the communications team to support all aspects of media, digital marketing, and social media execution. This role is pivotal in helping to enhance our social media presence, elevate brand awareness, and promote events and programs.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate on the development, implementation, and evaluation of the organization's overall communications strategy.
  • Design and execute social media strategies, using competitive research and audience insights to build engagement and visibility.
  • Manage social media calendars, optimizing posts to align with key events and initiatives.
  • Create compelling social media content that fosters connections with members and external audiences while driving engagement with events and programs.
  • Track and analyze social media performance metrics, applying insights to improve content strategies.
  • Design and edit event invitations, presentations, and social media graphics using Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva.
  • Oversee and update website content, including tracking of advertising placements.
  • Assist in video production for hybrid events, including editing and posting content to the Chamber s YouTube channel.
  • Capture event photography and manage the organization s photo and video asset libraries.
  • Support the production of the digital Member Handbook/Directory, collaborating with the VP of Communications.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media, or Public Relations.
  • Proven experience in social media marketing or digital media.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to write in various styles.
  • Proficiency in graphic design and desktop publishing tools (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva).
  • Knowledge of online marketing channels, web design, and website content management.
  • Experience with HubSpot for email marketing and list management.
  • Familiarity with video and photography editing, YouTube management, and Microsoft PowerPoint design.
  • Strong time management, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office Suite, and Zoom.
  • Must reside in Miami-Dade or Broward County, with reliable transportation for event attendance.
