Job Description:
As the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions, ensuring that all business units operate efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will bring high-level strategic thinking, extensive knowledge of the music industry, and operational expertise to manage the complexity of a multifaceted entertainment company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations across all divisions (music, marketing, merchandise, media), ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives
- Business Development: Identify and execute growth strategies in music, media, and merchandising while forging partnerships with key industry stakeholders and companies
- Financial Oversight: Work closely with the CFO to manage budgets, forecast revenue, and ensure financial health across all departments, driving profitability and cost efficiency
- Team Leadership: Lead a high-performing team, mentoring department heads and ensuring their activities align with strategic goals. Promote a culture of accountability and innovation
- Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and enhance internal operations, workflows, and systems to improve efficiency and scalability
- Artist & Talent Relations: Maintain strong relationships with artists, producers, and talent managers, ensuring alignment between creative projects and business objectives
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity
- Strategic Planning: Work with the executive team to develop long-term strategies, particularly around expanding Ruff Ryders' presence in new markets and verticals (film, TV, digital media)
Key Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in an executive operations role, with at least 5 years in the music or entertainment industry
- Proven track record of scaling businesses and leading operations in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong financial acumen, with experience managing P&Ls, budgets, and operational costs
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
- Deep knowledge of the music business, including distribution, rights management, and artist relations
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
